My mom “Mama” is a great cook. Her cooking skills are well known to family and friends, so our home has always been a favorite gathering place. You would be crazy to turn down an invitation for dinner. Not only do you enjoy a delicious meal made by my mother, but, on your way out the door after dinner, you are handed leftovers and added treats.
She shared that love of food with me from a young age. I would follow her around the kitchen and watch her make amazing dishes, like Chicken Relleno, an authentic Paella, Sukiyaki and her famous Flan! I helped to make family-favorite comfort foods including French Apple pie, Chocolate Mousse and Spaghetti Bolognese. I was a good Sous Chef to the Master Chef.
I knew I had fallen in love with cooking when I was able to replicate a dish from a favorite local Teppanyaki restaurant: Japanese fried rice. Like my mother, I express my love for friends and family (and now Village Tavern) through my cooking and recipe-sharing. Stay tuned for fun and delicious recipes!
